Press release distribution services in India compared (2026)
Updated 19 October 2026
Startups in India have four kinds of press release distribution to choose from: global wires, Indian wire services, packages built on news agency wires, and placement marketplaces. Here is what the well-known options say about themselves on their own websites, checked in October 2026.
01
What are the main types of press release distribution in India?
- Global wires: PR Newswire India and Business Wire India send your release through their networks to newsrooms and partner portals.
- Indian wire services: NewsVoir distributes releases to Indian journalists and publications, priced per project.
- Wire-based packages: resellers such as IndiaFilings and PressRelease.in sell packages that include distribution through Indian news agencies like ANI, IANS and PTI.
- Placement marketplaces: PRNEWS.IO and SellHax let you choose specific publications and pay the price each one sets.
02
Which services publish their prices?
- PR Newswire India: no public price list; you fill in a form and a representative contacts you.
- Business Wire India: no public price list; its pricing page is a payment form for an amount agreed with them.
- NewsVoir: no fixed price list; it says projects generally range from ₹10,000 to ₹5,00,000.
- PressRelease.in: publishes package prices, starting at ₹3,776 including GST for its entry package.
- IndiaFilings: publishes packages that combine ANI and IANS, or ANI, PTI and IANS, with a set number of online postings.
- PRNEWS.IO and SellHax: show a price for each publication before you order.
Prices change, so check the provider's own page before you buy.
03
Can you see where your release will appear before you pay?
The global wires describe their reach as counts of journalists, outlets and countries rather than a list of where your release will run. Packages from resellers name some of the outlets included. Marketplaces show each publication and its price, so you choose exactly where it appears.
If you need to know the specific sites in advance, for example to reach a particular industry, a marketplace or a package with named outlets is the safer choice.
04
What about regional languages?
Business Wire India says it supports the key regional languages of India. NewsVoir has a Hindi press release section. The other services don't state regional-language distribution on the pages we checked, though marketplaces list some regional-language sites individually.
05
Which should a startup choose?
- Big, genuinely national news (funding, a major launch) and budget for broad reach: a wire, with a clear agreement on what reporting you get.
- A first announcement on a small budget: a package that names its outlets and shows sample reports.
- You want specific publications your customers read: a marketplace, where you pick each site.
Whatever you choose, ask for the list of live links afterwards and check each one loads and is indexed.
06
Where does SellHax fit?
SellHax is a placement marketplace: you pick verified publications, see each price up front with one service fee as its own line, and your payment is held until the piece is live and you approve it. It is newer than the services above, so its list of publications is smaller.
